Performing Lyrical in the Teen division to "I Have Nothing" were Mae Armstrong, Lindsay Hague, Tori Kiser and Myla McGhee.  The performers, taught by Ms. Rachel, received HIGH GOLD, were first in their category and placed Fifth Overall.

 

Lindsay joined JDC last year and Myla and Tori are in their eleventh year at Huff 'n Puff and Mae is in her tenth year.

Mae Armstrong, Lauryn Hague and Lindsay Hague performed their trio lyrical dance to "End of Love" which was choreographed and taught by Ms. Rachel.  The dancers received a PLATINUM award, were first in their category and placed Second Overall.

Performing Jazz to "I'm a Lady" in the junior division were Rai Bullock, Lauryn Hague and Keanna Phelps.  Ms. Lois was the choreographer and instructor for this trio.   The performers were awarded a PLATINUM, placed first in their category and second overall.  This is Rai's first year to compete.

Performing a jazz duet in the mini division to "Beach Babes" were Aubrey Hague and Lianna Overholser.  The performers were awarded a PLATINUM, were first in their category and received First Overall.  This is the first year for the two dancers to compete - both are on the Jax Gym Competitive Team and they were taught by Ms. Lois.  Lianna is the youngest step-daughter of Ms. Lois.

Competing Contemporary in the Teen Division to "Rain" were Mae Armstrong, Chandler Dean, Lindsay Hague, Tori Kiser and Myla McGhee.  This performance was choeorographed and taught by Ms. Rachel and receieved a PLATINUM Award, a Golden Ticket to the world dance championships, a Choreography Award for Ms. Rachel and placed second overall in the tough Teen Advance Level.   No photo is available at this time.

Competing lyrical in the junior division to  "Rise Up" were Rai Bullock, Lauryn Hague and Keanna Phelps.  The performers were awarded a PLATINUM and were first in their category and third overall.  Ms. Lois is the instructor for this trio.

Competing Musical Theater in the Teen Division to "It's a Hard-Knock Life were Mae Armstrong, Michaela Boles, Rai Bullock, Chandler Dean, Lauryn Hague, Lindsay Hague, Jaimee Hall, Tori Kiser, Myla McGhee and Keana Phellps.  The performers were awarded a PLATINUM Award, first in category, golden ticket to the world dance championships, and third Overall.  Ms. Lois is the choreographer for and instructor for this performance.  No photo is available for this performance at this time.

The JDC Minis then peformed their tap to "Shake Your Groove Thing" and received a HIGH GOLD award, were first in their category and placed Fifth Overall in the Top Five.  Performing this number were Josephine Epperson, Aubrey Hague, Lianna Overholser, Lily Overholser and Kaylee Pelkey.

JDC Group Performances began after the 12:30 awards presentation.  Performing Hiphop to "Boop" were the JDC Minis - Josephine Epperson, Aubrey Hague, Lianna Overholser, Lily Overholser and Kaylee Pelkey.  The dancers received a PLATINUM award, placed first in category and third overall in the Top Five.

Chandler's photo was also entered in the Photogenic Competition and she placed Second for her beautiful photo.

Performing Teen Jazz to "Proud Mary" were Mae Armstrong, Lindsay Hague, Jaimee Hall, Tori Kiser and Myla McGhee.  The performers were awarded a PLATINUM Award, First in category and Third Overall.  The performance was choreographed and taught by Ms. Rachel.

Performing Teen HipHop to "Plain Jane" were Mae Armstrong, Michaela Boles, Lauryn Hague, Lindsay Hague and Keanna Phelps.  The performers were awarded a High Gold Award, first in category and 8th Overall.  They are taught by Ms. Lois.

Chandler Dean and Myla McGhee performed their tap duet to "Need Your Love."  This performance was choreographed by Shelly Butcher and taught by Ms. Lois.  Chandler and Myla were awarded a PLATINUM, first in category and first overall.  This photo was taken at a previous competition this fall where they also took top awards.   Chandler is in her tenth year at Hnp and Myla is in her eleventh.  The two also won numerous top awards last year.

The Mini JDC performers competed lyrical to "Hero,"  Competing were Josephine Epperson, Aubrey Hague, Lianna Overholser, Lily Overholser an Kaylee Pelkey.  The dancers are taught by Ms. Rachel, who also choreographed this number.  The performers received a PLATINUM Award, were first in their category, received a Golden Ticket to the World Dance Championships and were First Overall in Top Five.   Quite the awards for young dancers competing for their very first time!  These dancers have really turned it on and we are all so very proud of them and their instructors.

JDC Teen Tappers, Mae Armstrong, Chandler Dean, Lindsay Hague, Jaimee Hall, Tori Kiser and Myla McGhee performed to "I Lived" - this number was choreographed by Shelly Butcher and taught by Ms. Lois.  The dancers received a High Gold Award, were first in their category and received Fourth Overall.  No picture is available at this time.

Jacksonville Dance Company took home the prestigious STAR STUDIO Award for the 12 and Up Age Group!!  This award was chosen by the judges and backstage staff at Nexstar Talent Competition for JDC's representation on and off the stage and is such a huge compliment for JDC Dancers and Teachers.   We are appreciative that our dancers are so considerate of others and friendly and respective of others.

 

CONGRATULATIONS JDC on such a big weekend full of so many MANY ACCOMPLISHMENTS.  We are all so proud of you and your accomplishments!!!  Here's to a great competition season!
