Katelin McLain joined the gymnastics staff at Huff 'n Puff this August 2019. This is the first for Katelinn to coach for us but Katelin is really an oldtimer here at Jax Gym. Details will follow.
Makyla Sandoval wrote the following for the website in October 2019. Makyla began coaching preschool and recreational gymnastics (all levels) in August, 2019. We are pleased that she chose to join our staff.
I am originally from Nashville, TN, but married military and have been moving around ever since. I have three children--two daughters and a son, ages six, eight and eleven. My two youngest children are in the trampoline and tumbling program here at Jax and my oldest is in karate. I love going to the movies, love to read, sleep and spend time with those who mean the most to me. I moved to Arkansas from Montana back in July and started working for Jax Huff 'n Puff in August. I have been coaching gymnastics for about four years, coaching tots to recreational gymnastics to competitive Level Three gymnasts to boy's gymnastics. At Great Falls Gymnastics Academy, I was one of the gym mangers and office personnel. I also evaluated athletes for determining their right class based on their skill level. I was also in charge of Saturday Ninja class; I was also responsible for finding coaches to work birthdays and setting up the parties.
Here at Huff 'n Puff, I coach Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald recreational gymnasts in addition to teaching preschool gymnasts on Wednesdays.

JULIA CARVER - 2015 - 2016 and 2017 - 2018 Recreational Gymnastics Coach
In response to my request, Julia wrote this in 2015 regarding her work at Huff 'n Puff and I left most of it in the first person. I have added on information on the last paragraph.
Hello!!!!! My name is Julia Carver and I have just joined the Jax Gymnastics/Huff 'n Puff crew. I am 35 years old and I was born and raised in North Little Rock, Arkansas. I started ballet, tap and jazz at the age of three, then decided that I wanted to be a gymnast at age eight. I started gymnastics classes at the NLR Community Center and quickly started competing Level Four at the age of Nine. Eventually, at the age of 14, I decided to move to Kidsports in Benton, AR., being coached by Holly Crocket. Unfortunately, at my Level Nine State meet in Conway, AR. I tore my ACL on my FIRST warm-up event, doing my dismount on uneven bars. This ended my career as a gymnast, and I was very upset, due to me craving a college scholarship in the sport. I didn’t coach for years, until I moved to Honolulu, Hawaii in 2010. I coached for five years at two different gymnastic clubs, prior to moving back to my home state approximately six months ago (2015). I adore and know the sport of gymnastics very well; and take it very seriously as well.. My forte is the recreational level and I thoroughly enjoy coaching the younger females! It’s so wonderful to be back here in AR. with people I know and have been affiliated with in the sport for years! Girls and boys…….WORK HARD AND KEEP A POSITIVE ATTITUDE IN ALL OF LIFE—NOT JUST WHEN YOU’RE DOING GYMNASTICS!!! She forgot to mention that she also has a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology.
Julia's advice to all of her students is "Stay Hydrated! " Last year, Julia taught recreational gymnastics and several preschool classes. Also Julia got certified in Ninja Zone and began teaching classes to younger boys in mid-September, 2016. These classes were a huge success and Julia thoroughly enjoyed teaching the boys as well as girls in her other classes. Julia is teaching many of the recreational classes this year (2018-2019). Julia is also DHS certified and works with HnP After-School Program Monday through Friday. She also coaches the HnP Mini Mite program twice a week at two different schools. Julia is such a great asset to Huff 'n Puff programs.
