Huff ‘n Puff/Jax Gym
Gymnastics is a sport that children of all ages can enjoy. It is not only fun, it’s also a great way for kids to develop balance, control and coordination. In addition, gymnastics helps children learn new skills in a safe environment, build self-confidence and form friendships. The key to having a positive gymnastics experience lies in finding the right gym. We believe that Huff ‘n Puff may be that very place for your child.
Programs offered in Huff ‘n Puff gymnastics programs are Preschool, Recreational Gymnastics and Trampoline and Tumbling. Ninja Zone includes moves similar to gymnastics.
Preschool program is for children ages two through four years. Pre-K classes are held for children, ages two and also classes for ages three and four, who have never had gymnastics. Pre-K ongoing classes are held for children ages three and four who have had prior gymnasts. Pre-K classes are also offered in the Ninja department.
Recreational gymnastics includes classes for ages five and six, seven and above. These classes include skills for floor work, bars, beam and vault. Levels in the gymnastics classes are ruby, saphire and emerald (comparable to bronze, silver and gold.)
The bronze, silver and gold classifications were changed at Huff 'n Puff this year to differentiate between the xcel clasifications. Classes are now identified as ruby, sapphire and emerald - these classifications are also used in acrobatic gymnastics, power tumbling and trampoline and tumbling. The acrobatics classes and power tumbling classes are somewhat similar but acrobatics covers aerials and works on flexibility, whereas power tumbling works on power and strength. Ninja Zone classes incorporate gymnastics with running, jumping, vaulting, climbing and power and strength skills and are for ages 3 - 4, 5 - 8 and 9 and up
Schedules for the gymnastics classes are listed under each classification (preschool under preschool, etc). Other classes are listed on their respective pages. The classifications on this schedule are still ruby, sapphire and emerald. There may be some schedules that have not been changed to reflect the new classifications. Xcel classifications remain, bronze, silver, gold, platinunum and diamond.
